Calls for Papers    

  • Annual Meeting of the Society for Christian Scholarship in Music: Individual papers, research posters, panels, and lecture recitals on any topic related to the study of music and Christianity are welcome. Submissions representing a variety of approaches and perspectives, including ethnomusicology, historical musicology, theory and analysis, philosophy, theology, liturgy, congregational music, as well as other methodologies are invited. (Deadline: October 1, 2022)

Fellowships, Grants, and Further Scholarship    

  • AAR Have a Cup of Coffee Mentoring Program - Held face-to-face during the Annual Meeting, this program connects members in need of mentoring with experienced professionals. Apply to be a mentor! (Deadline: October 7, 2022)
  • AAR Individual Research Grants - Provide support for important aspects of research, such as fieldwork or travel to archives and libraries, for AAR members. (Deadline: October 13, 2022) 
  • AAR Collaborative Research Grants - Intended to stimulate cooperative research among scholars who have a focus on a clearly identified research project and for interdisciplinary work with scholars outside the field of religion. (Deadline: October 13, 2022). 
  • AAR Undergraduate Research Grant - The AAR is piloting a new grant program, the AAR Undergraduate Research Grant program, that is designed to allow AAR members to support an undergraduate student conducting research on religion. (Deadline: November 1, 2022)
