Call for Spotlight on Teaching Editor

The American Academy of Religion seeks a Spotlight on Teaching editor.

Spotlight on Teaching is a major teaching and learning initiative of the AAR and its Committee on Teaching and Learning. Over the last several years, it has become a principal venue for exploring opportunities and challenges in teaching and learning about religions.

Spotlight on Teaching appears in Religious Studies News twice a year. Each issue focuses on a particular theme, concern, or setting. To read issues of Spotlight on Teaching published since the May 2014 issue, please see here. Links to earlier issues may be found here.

The Spotlight Editor serves a four-year term, beginning in 2018, as an ex-officio member of the AAR’s Teaching and Learning Committee. All applicants must be members of the American Academy of Religion.

Nominations (self-nominations are encouraged) and applications may be submitted online. Applications must include a letter describing interests and qualifications, plus a current curriculum vita.

For any questions, please contact Elizabeth Hardcastle at ehardcastle@aarweb.org.

The application deadline is August 1, 2017.
