Associate Director of Publishing
Sarah Levine joined the AAR in August 2013. She is the editor of Religious Studies News and the staff liaison to the Contingent Faculty Task Force, the Religion and the Arts Award Jury, the Book Award Jury for Excellence in the Study of Religion, and the Book Award Jury for Best First Book in the History of Religions. Sarah also assists in supporting online systems for regional calls and meetings.
Prior to coming to the AAR, Sarah worked as an instructor and writing tutor at Georgia State University and a writing consultant at Emory University's Goizueta Business School. She has a BA and MA in religious studies from Georgia State University. Her master's thesis, "The Birth of Tragedy out of the Spirit of Dance: Nietzschean Transitions in Nijinsky's Ballets," compared the imagined relationships between aesthetics and religion in the work of Friedrich Nietzsche and the Ballets Russes dancer and choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky.
