Welcome to the Annual Meetings!

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is the site of our 2013 Annual Meetings. Situated in the heart of the eastern seaboard, it is one of the most photographed and visited areas of the city. It has been one of the major seaports in the United States since the 1700s and started blossoming into the cultural center of Baltimore in the 1970s. Locals and visitors alike enjoy Baltimore's Inner Harbor and the surrounding neighborhoods that offer a variety of fine dining, cultural experiences, and exciting nightlife. Come dine on fresh crabs, visit the Aquarium, and take a moment to listen to live jazz at Lexington Market.

Sessions will be held in nine different properties, all within walking distance—the Baltimore Convention Center, Hilton Convention Center, Hyatt Regency, Lord Baltimore, Marriott Inner Harbor, Renaissance Harborplace, Royal Sonesta Harbor Court, Sheraton City Center, and the Sheraton Inner Harbor. Make reservations with the Housing Bureau at one of our twenty-nine hotels, and enjoy all that the Inner Harbor has to offer up close!

Getting Around

The Baltimore Convention Center and most hotels are within easy walking distance of one another. To get to other area attractions, utilize the light rail, the Baltimore public train system, or the Circulator, Baltimore’s complimentary bus system.

Additional Meetings

Requests for Additional Meetings space are being accepted through the new online Additional Meetings system. All requests are handled on a space and time-slot available basis. The Additional Meetings program, held in conjunction with the AAR Annual Meeting, is an important service to AAR members. All Additional Meetings participants are expected to register for the Annual Meetings. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before completing and submitting your space request. For more information about the Additional Meetings, click here. Questions should be directed to Soraya Shahrak at additionalmeetings@annual-meetings.org.

Employment Center

The AAR and SBL will jointly sponsor one Employment Center at the Annual Meetings. Members of both organizations will have the opportunity to register and use the Center onsite. This year's Employment Center will be located at the Baltimore Convention Center. More information and details about registration and deadlines can be found here.

AAR is proud to provide childcare service at the Annual Meetings for the convenience of our members. Childcare is available at an hourly or daily rate. It will be located in the Baltimore Marriott Marquis Hotel. Registration for childcare service is now open.

Disability Accessibility

AAR members with disabilities or who may have difficulty getting around the meeting are encouraged to note this during registration. AAR will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate you, whether by arranging special services such as sign language interpreters, assigning accessible hotel room space, or through the AAR’s taxi reimbursement policy. Please contact the Annual Meeting team if you have any questions.

International Attendees

It is necessary for those entering the United States to clear customs and immigration. Visitors from Canada and Mexico must present a passport in order to enter the United States. Please be prepared. Non-U.S. citizens should inquire about possible visa requirements from their own country. Official letters of invitation to the Annual Meeting to support visa applications are available. E-mail annualmeeting@aarweb.org with your name, address, and the full contact information of the consulate of your country.

Stay Connected

Participants at the Baltimore Convention Center will have limited access to wireless Internet this year. There are two hotspots in the Convention Center—Starbucks and Market Fresh Café—at which guests will have access to complimentary wireless Internet. As always, a free Cyber Café will be available in the Exhibit Hall.
