Submission to In the Field

News of events and opportunities for scholars of religion published online by the American Academy of Religion.

In the Field is a members-only online publication that accepts calls for papers, grant news, conference announcements, and other opportunities appropriate for scholars of religion. Submissions cannot be more than 100 words. Contributors must submit text electronically using this form.  Listings may be submitted as much as 330 days in advance.

There is no charge for listing in In the Field.

Helpful Submission Tips:

  1. If you wish to announce, for example, an event on October 1-4 for which abstracts are due on June 1, you would probably wish to place two separate listings:  one for the abstract deadline and another for the actual event.
  2. The following cannot be posted to In the Field:
    • Job announcements (These should be submitted to Job Postings).  Note, however, that fellowship announcements are acceptable for In the Field.
    • Sales and marketing information (AAR labels may be rented, in some cases, for this purpose).
