Summer Seminars on Theologies of Religious Pluralism and Comparative Theology

AAR Commitment

The Summer Seminar program in TRP and comparative theology will be among the most rigorous and scholarly efforts undertaken for faculty development in these areas. These Summer Seminars are not intended to be an exercise in remedial world religions, although a substantive encounter with several major traditions is envisioned. Rather, our overall goal is to generate and sustain a substantive interreligious conversation about the meaning of religious diversity for theological educators situated within particular traditions. These Summer Seminars will address a critical need in theological education, significantly grow the number of faculty equipped to teach TRP and comparative theology in institutions of theological education, and thereby make an enduring contribution to the education of future religious leaders. The TESC also hopes to generate important scholarly contributions in the scholarship of teaching as well as a robust network of colleagues who can support each other as they move into new areas of research and teaching.
