Islamic Prayer Information

This information is taken from http://www.islamicfinder.org/, and we believe it to be accurate.  But in case of concern or confusion, we recommend checking on your own or consulting with an imam.

In San Diego, the qibla is to the northeast, at 25.341686° clockwise from true north. In San Diego, the street grid generally aligns to true north with minimal deviation – but please note that Harbor Drive follows the coastline rather than the regular street grid. We have prepared a Qibla Finder (requires PDF) that members can print and use to locate the qibla in their hotel rooms or other areas where it is not marked, simply by keeping in mind which is the north-facing wall of the room.  During the Annual Meeting, at the following times of day, the shadow of an object in the sun will fall in the direction of the qibla:

Friday, November 16, 2007 2:01 PM (14:01h) EST
Saturday, November 17, 2007 2:02 PM (14:02h) EST
Sunday, November 18, 2007 2:02 PM (14:02h) EST
Monday, November 19, 2007 2:03 PM (14:03h) EST
Tuesday, November 20, 2007 2:04 PM (14:04h) EST

Prayer times are as follows according to the Islamic Society of North America (all times PST [Pacific Standard Time]). The times are hyperlinks to vCalendar files, which can be opened to add reinders to the Outlook or Palm calendars.
