Soraya Shahrak joined the AAR in October 2010. She is responsible for registration and housing at the AAR's Annual Meeting, which is held in November of each year. Prior to work with the AAR, Soraya was a student at Metropolitan State College of Denver in Colorado and graduated with honors in 2007 with a BA in Meeting Administration. While a student at MSCD, Soraya worked with the Golden Key International Society where she organized such events as the Annual Induction Ceremony, Annual President’s Tea, and the Better World Book Drive. Soraya also was a Teacher’s Assistant to the Head Professor and Director of the Meeting Administration Department.
Soraya’s expertise includes vendor relations, sponsorship solicitation, and operational and logistical management, gained from more than fourteen years of increasingly responsible positions in food service and event coordination working with fast-paced, rapidly expanding companies. She has been an event coordinator for four years previous to her employment at the AAR.
