Aislinn Jones joined the AAR as the Annual Meeting Program Director in 2002. She became the Director of Meetings and Marketing in 2007. Aislinn relishes the challenges of overseeing the programming, logistics, and execution of each year’s Annual Meeting. She manages all aspects of the Annual Meeting from the Call for Papers to session scheduling to exhibits to publications, with the support of other AAR staff and vendors. She is most proud of her work to increase the accessibility of Annual Meeting processes to the membership through technology. The recent expansion in her role to include marketing is a welcome development and she looks forward to working with the AAR staff and its members to promote the excellent work of the Academy.
Aislinn graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining the AAR, Aislinn pursued a graduate degree in religious studies at the University of Stirling, Scotland, and was a web developer at IBM. At IBM she worked on websites for the Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg, the Grammy’s, and the US Open among others. She is active in her local religious community, is an avid traveler and camper, and enjoys spending time with her family since the birth of her son in 2006.
