AAR/WR Awards Competitions

AAR/WR 2009 Student Paper Competition:

AAR/WR invites its graduate student members to compete for best paper awards. Eligible entries must be papers already accepted for presentation on the 2009 AAR/WR program; winning entrants must be registered for the 2009 conference and present their papers in person. Only registered graduate students who have had a paper accepted and will present this paper at the March 2009 meeting at the University of Santa Clara are eligible. Awards will be given to the papers that present the most intellectually sophisticated and rigorous treatment of a topic related to the conference theme. To be considered for this award AAR/WR graduate students who have accepted papers must attend the 20 09 AAR/WR conference and present the paper in person. Awards will be announced and given Sunday evening March 22, 2009 at the WECSOR reception. To be considered for this award please send an e-copy of their finished papers to Norris Palmer. AAR/WR 2009 Adjunct Professor/Independent Scholar Paper Competition:

AAR/WR invites its members with Ph.D.s/Th.D.s who are adjunct professors and/or independent scholars to compete for best paper awards (first and second prizes of $500). Eligible entries must be papers accepted for presentation on the 2009 AAR/WR program; winning entrants must be registered for the 2009 conference and present their papers in person. Winning entries will be judged from among those papers that present the most intellectually sophisticated and rigorous treatment of a topic related to the conference theme. Awards will be announced and given Sunday evening March 22, 2009 at the WECSOR reception. All interested AAR/WR members who meet the above requirements should send an e-copy ( as Word doc) of their finished papers to Jon Stone, Past-President, AAR/WR (email: jrstone@csulb.edu): deadline for submissions is no later than March 1, 2009.
