Annual Meeting Events:
Mentoring Roundtable
Each year, the Status of Women in the Profession Committee organizes a luncheon during the Annual Meeting. Several mid-career and senior AAR scholars gather with newer and emerging scholars in the field to discuss pertinent issues like choosing an adviser, getting published, contract negotiation, and the challenge of balancing work and personal commitments. The lunch is cosponsored with the Status of Racial and Ethnic Minorities and the LGBTIQ Task Force. Pre-registration is required and the lunch costs $10. Click here for more information on the Mentoring Lunch, including registration.
2011 Overcoming Barriers to Underrepresented Scholarship: A Strategy and Action Workshop
Overcoming Barriers to Underrepresented Scholarship: A Strategy and Action Workshop is a Friday workshop hosted at the 2011 Annual Meeting by the Status of LGBTIQ Persons in the Profession Committee, Status of Racial & Ethnic Minorities in the Profession Committee, and the Status of Women in the Profession Committee. The cost for the workshop is $50, which includes the entire day of sessions and a continental breakfast (lunch will be on your own). We do not want anyone to be prevented from attending the workshop due to cost. If you need a subsidy, please contact judith.plaskow@manhattan.edu. Registration is limited to the first 80 participants. Registration is through the online Annual Meeting registration process or by faxing in the workshop form.
